About

Since I was little, I have loved telling stories.  Capturing a person's attention to either make them laugh or motivate them to help another is something I have always enjoyed.  Storytelling is such a key piece of our world today, creating those memorable and thought-provoking stories is challenging, but it is an area I have excelled in for more than a decade.

I began working in news in August of 2009 at a small station in Zanesville, Ohio.  It was the foot-in-the-door I needed to get into the broadcast news industry.  From there, I worked at WCTI NewsChannel 12 in New Bern, North Carolina as both a bureau chief and weekend anchor.  It was there I covered my first hurricanes and experienced the rush and challenge of breaking news.  I learned how to shoot and edit my own stories and I will say, without a doubt, the two years I spent at WCTI were the most difficult in my career.  Yet, I am thankful for my time there because it shaped me into a stronger journalist and storyteller.

After WCTI, I joined First Coast News in Jacksonville, Florida as a morning reporter for Good Morning Jacksonville.  I covered anything and everything happening around town- as morning reporters do. After about a year, I was offered a traffic anchor/noon anchor position and gladly accepted.  While I still covered breaking news and feature stories around Jacksonville, I also began developing a cold case series called "UNSOLVED".  After years of covering crime, I wanted to follow up on the stories and families I had covered.  Many of them were still waiting for justice and answers and felt forgotten.  Since 2017, UNSOLVED has spotlighted more then 75 cases from around the First Coast and has lead to tips in cold cases and even helped close a missing persons case in Jacksonville Beach in 2020.  It has truly meant so much to me that families are willing to open up about something so raw and painful for them and law enforcement has also trusted us to tell the stories factually and thoughtfully.  In 2019, I was promoted to a morning anchor for Good Morning Jacksonville from 4:30-6:00am, while maintaining the traffic and noon anchor positions.

I also began the social media series "Driving Me Crazy" and I never imagined how popular it would become.  It all began with a video called "Things Jax Drivers Say" I recorded in my car and posted on my Facebook that suddenly garnered nearly 1 million views.  I began doing more videos about driving in the left lane, bad parking and driving in the rain and the response was huge each time.  People loved the honesty and humor and I always tried to slip in something educational because I have learned sometimes the best way to help people learn something is to make them laugh in the process.

Outside of work, I am very proud to say my husband and I are the proud parents of two little boys and two rescued pups.  Animal rescue is a cause very close to my family's heart and we love to help Jacksonville Humane Society any way we can.  I am also on the board for the Jacksonville Speech and Hearing Center, an organization devoted to helping children and adults receive the care they need for speech and audiology.  I am also on the board for Suwannee Valley Unsolved, an organization that works to spotlight cold cases from rural region that are often overlooked.
